One thing for sure I would do. Is rotate the compressor BY HAND with a speed wrench 6-8 times in both directions to make sure NO OIL is on the pistons. Reason being: Depending on how the compressor was positioned (for shipping ) some oil may get on top of a piston and when you lock up the clutch with the engine running.... As Billy Mays would say " KA-Boom " you could cause a Static LOC-UP due to oil on the top of a piston.
Use caution on steps, The shop manual explains how much oil for cond.-Evap.-Comp. If using 134, Charge with 80% of the factory recomended charge.
