Okay, Built my first 9" center section today. No real issues but as expected had to make tools and bearing/race drivers.
Used a solid spacer and pinion drag/preload is ~14 * (new bearings - Daytona pinion support) Took a few tries to get it but not too bad.
Backlash is ~ .007
I have a pinion depth measuring set up from T&D Machine but after getting it set up I realized it won't work with a aluminum center section due to how the pinion support is supported.
It currently has ~ .014 shim between the case and bearing support
Thanks in advance!
