after gallons of 2K primer surfacer, lots of long boarding, bitchin', beer drinkin, & the wife sayin' "how long is this gonna take?", the '67 has a new paint job :hurray:. I'll post more pics after it's sanded & buffed... just gotta figure how to break that news to the mrs.:(

Looks real good. I can appreciate the effort getting those panels straight enough to carry a black paint job. There are advantages though to going black. Did you paint this all at the same time or were you able to paint it separately? Seems everytime a tried to paint a metallic, if it didn't get done on the same day, it didn't match. Solid colors seem to be a lot more forgiving. Your car looks great now, very little peel as painted. Will look like glass once you cut it.

those metallics done seperately will bite you...ask me how i know! yes, this was done all at once... hood, deck lid, cowl vent, & quarter extensions on a stand.
Your car looks great ! - In photo 3, does the car have GM Corvette AZ ralley wheels or an aftermarket copy? I ask because the wheels seem to be tucked under the car more than some I've seen w/ the GM 15x8 ralley's, and I like the look. Any insight would be appreciated.
those are wheel vintiques, a VERY nice copy. 15x8, 4 1/2" backspace. 275-60's & 225-60's i'm really confident i could fit 295's on though, with no problem. just have to boil those 275's off first to find out:yes:
.....thanks to everyone for the nice comments. it's been a lot of work, & a long time coming. just two more times around wet sanding, & some up close time with mr. buffer.

It is rewarding to see all your blocking is done right when you get that slick black on there. I spent 4 weeks blocking my 65 and most of that was just the doors and front fenders. The new quarters were good without additional work. I used
SS black and did all the parts separately at different times and had correct color match and was happy with results. I wasn't 100% sure it was straight till ai finally had paint on there! Seeing your car in black makes all your work worthwhile doesn't it?

Very interested in the stance of your car. It looks perfect to me. Some questions ...

Do you have the stock ride height springs in there? If so, are they new? What's shocks?

Also interested if you have the original 67 rear end in it. I have a 66 with the 68-72 rear end which is 1" wider and trying to determine how wide a tire I can get in there.

Since you have 275s in now and you think you could do 295s, I'm wondering if I could get 275s on mine with 4.5" of BS on the wider rear.

Thinking I can definitely get 255s on there with a 8" rim with 4.5" BS and MAYBE a 275. Again, all because of my wider rear end.

Thoughts?

You have such a nice looking ride. I'm doing Tuxedo black as well. :)

rear springs are stock replacements, from summit racing, #SUM-CC501. originals had sagged pretty bad, & these new ones are a little higher than i expected. maybe they will set in a bit lower once i get some miles on them. fronts were bought from gm back in the 70's, cant remember the # for them, but they were for an optioned up a-body wagon with a big block. they were too high, so i cut 3/4 of a coil off them. i've put the original 3.55 rear back in the car, but for play time i still have a '69 4.10 12 bolt that i THINK will fit with these wheels, thats why i chose that b.s. right now i have a little over 1/2"clearance to the widest point of the sidewall, so if need be i could trim some off the fenderwell pinchweld for more movement. if you were closer, we could slap 'em on & find out. oh, shocks are just stock replacement kyb gas till i get things sorted out & put some miles on.
