I spent the last couple of days buttoning up my new exhaust system.

Old system
Generic 1 7/8" headers
3 1/2" straight pipe
3 1/2" round Dynomax UtraFlows

New System
Coated Hooker #2205 2" Super Comps w/33" primaries
3 1/2" Dr. Gas X-pipe
3 1/2" round Dynomax UltraFlows

I picked the headers up on e-bay NIB never installed. I had the Dr. Gas X-pipe sitting around. Since I had to redo the under car exhaust anyway I figured it was as good a time as any to insert the X-pipe into the system.

I did not lose any ground clearance over the old headers. I really like the fitment of the Hooker Super Comps too. Installation wasn't too bad. On the passenger side I had to loosen the idler arm and drop it down. On the drivers side I had to take the motor mount loose and lift the engine about 2" but otherwise the headers slid right in from the bottom side. The exhaust also seems quite a bit quieter from inside the car.

I know one thing for sure......the new exhaust will be worth some ET!!!! That is if I take it off......dang thing weighs 65 lbs!!! Track testing coming up!

I'm always interested in what an exhaust system is worth.
Most people dont realise how heavey systems are, with tailpipes and heavy muffs it can be over 100lbs easy.

Looking good! That's basically the same size stuff I'm running. I think it's a better match for your combo than the old one. Can't say what it will be worth over the old one, so you'll have to let us know! Between the new carb and this new exhaust, I see good things happening to your timeslip. ;)
