Recently someone posted a topic about the window difference between the 68-69 and the 70-72 Chevelle because a 69 had the window of a 70-72 style.
I never noticed that window difference before, but now it's all I see when I look at that style lol.

Anyways, are there any other major differences between the 68-68 and the 70-72 as far as the shell goes? I always thought they were all the same with different nose cones and tail lights, whoops...

So are there any other major differences?
68 and 69 look similar, and share basic roof, quarters, trunk and basic door and fender shape. the hoods look the same, but IIRC the hood honge bolt hole spacing is different (different hinges). All the glass interchanges, but I think many '69s might have had the antenna in the windshield (or did that come out in 1970?).
'68 grills and headlight bezels where metal, while '69 went to plastic...

And of course, 68s had vent windows, while 69 2-door hardtops and converts had one-piece windows in the doors...

'68 has narrower taillights, and 69s are larger...

trim changes...

'69 went to a rear button for the seat release, and the ignition key was moved to the column...

theres more too, differences in the disc brakes, short to long water pumps...

70-72 used completely different sheetmetal than a 68/69, except the trunk lid and maybe the roof panel.

70-72 2-dor hardtops and converts used different fenders than even the El caminos and wagons. (68 or 69, the front clip from a wagon will swap over (maybe different trim holes)... 70-72 2-doors had bulges in the fenders and 1/4s . 1/4 window openings were different between 68/69 and 70/71/72...

70-72 used the same hood doors, 1/4s, trunk and roof, and basically the same fenders ('70 has the side marker lights in the fender, while '71/72 the marker was moved to the headlight extension...
70 used 4 headlight, and 71/72 used only 2 (new radiator support, etc)...

interiors were very similar, using basically the same dash and door panels (differnet colored lettering on the guages, etc), and differnet seat upholstery patterns. and a few other minor differences, like the "seat belt" light on the '72 dashes...
