Hey guys, the place behind my kick panel is rusted, you know the part with the vent. This is a 66. Do they make this piece, and is it called a kick panel? That's the dumb part of my question. Is it expensive? It sort of looks like I could make that piece myself but I don't have a good view of the area cause the car is mostly together. Except for the floor is cut out.
It looks like I'm gonna need to take out the dash and take the fender off to do it right. I guess I'm gonna have to start stacking stuff in my bedroom. We only have a 2 car garage and I'm already taking up the other half of the garage and with winter coming that's prolly gonna have to change.
I stoped when I saw this when I was replacing my floor months ago. Now I'm tired of being a puss and want to have something new to say to my friends when they ask what I've done to my car lately.

sorry they do not make this peice, your only hope is to get a good rust free one or fabricate it. IF it is Rotted, you must also realize it is rotted through two layers, the thicker 18 guage one and the thinner 20 that is behind it. IF these are rotted the front of you inner and outter rockers will also be rotted.

Thank you very much for the pictures. They're really gonna help me out. I guess I'll be taking the car a lot farther a part than I wanted too. Do they make that rocker part?
Sometimes I wish I would have just bought a different car, but this has been my car since 91 and it was my second car. I have a lot of good memories in it, so I guess I'll soldier on. I know I have to replace some of the metal under the rear window and a little under the windshield.
I don't hang out here in the body shop forum much but I have a feeling I'm about to. Thank you again guys, I'll be seeing you around. Later Josh
