I had the driveline shortened for the turbo 400 BB combo I put in my 72 elcamino. the yolk hits the o-ring on the tail shaft of the trans, goes a little past and then the splines inside the yoke won't get past the machined surface just before the o-ring. I was told it should go past this point freely. I tried filing down the inside splines a bit but not luck.
Any ideas?? It is a short shaft 400 from a 73 camino. I think the yolk was from the same car and is about 51/2 inches of shaft not counting the u-joint area.
