Hi everyone...Once again I find myself looking for expert advice and opinion. 69 SS..big block. Total ground up resto and I went with a 2 inch drop spindle
(in hind-sight now maybe a goof) and with 235 60R 15's in the front and 275 60's in the rear. Everything under the car is new...heavy duty big block coils in the front and heavy's in the back. Monroe Max shocks all the way around. I love the way the car sits...not to low (at least I thought not going together and driving it for the past year since the basket case purchase 8 years ago) Anyway the back was at about 27 inches to the w/w opening and the front at 26 inches. So I threw the spare tire in the trunk, small tool box, and another tub with extra coolant, jack stand and a couple of other things you know the "just in case" stuff. Lost maybe an inch. Put a full tank of gas in it, someone in the back seat...(okay maybe not) and down it goes..I gringe over a dip in the road. My Ceramic headers have been nastiliy dimpled on the passenger side...lowest tube. Collectors and bolts are lower but have not scraped. Seems a little curious to me. So I was thinking more height and if I go with a 235 70 in the front and looking at tire the spec it's about 1.8 inches taller..Maybe a different shock as well...KYB perhaps...something a little stiffer...less bounce? Lowest part of the tube now is 3 3/4 inches...from the dimple (I should probably say crater now) but yet the collectors lowest bolt is right at about 3 1/8-3 1/4. Not sure how that is. So what do you folks think...any suggestions. No shorty's allowed I like the long tubes...Any good suggestions for a stiff riding shock. I know I may sacrafice some of the ride but...my woman won't mind (sometimes I think she fancies the car more than me). So what do you think gents...Thanks in advance
