putting an victor hi flow pump on my 502 along with an increased flow t stat and my pump
has 1 hole at the top of pump. i have 2 in my current pump(1-bypass,1-htr hose). do i drill and tap for 2 holes or skip the bypass? cannot run htr hose anywhere else. thanks

I would skip the bypass and make sure your t-stat has some bypass.
 
If you hooked the heater hose to it, it would function as a bypass. If you use a valve to stop the water flow when the heater is off, I've heard they make some where you hook both the feed and return lines into the valve, so it just redirects the flow instead of stopping it.

To me, it sounds like a better idea for a street car to use the bypass instead of drilling big holes in the thermostat, so that it warms up faster, but a lot of people seem to just drill holes. I would imagine blocking the bypass would cool a little better though.
