I'm going to start looking for a dated alt. and a waterpump for my chevelle.What is a good time frame do I need to look for is it 2-3 months of the cars build date or it 2-3 months from the motors build date.thanks

Water pump should be 1 - 3 months before the engine build date; alternator should be 2 - 3 months before the car's build date.
