I'm also doing this conversion.

I have a '72 original bench car. I bought it with buckets from a camaro or something in it. got a console from a guy at my shop, and a shifter as a groomsman gift from a wedding (was off ebay). I probably won't change out the column in the near future, I just took the shifter handle off. I did get a pair of buckets off ebay for @$200 after shipping, but they're just cores. Used a new GM cable.

I also converted to a 700R4 tranny, so there was a conversion kit necessary for the detents and a new lens. I still need to dye the console, replace the chrome strips and get an auto top trim plate,. The seats need everything except frames and springs, but they're there for fitting. I'll replace the column when I can afford to get a floor shift/tilt one. My next conversion is changing from a sweep style dash to the SS/monte round guage style. I have a working "core" and harness from a monte w/AC, but will probably put all new housing in, as it would be tough to make look good.
