Years ago I converted my 68 BBC Chevelle over to front disc brakes using a kit from HO Specialities or HO Racing in Hawthorn, CA. The kit uses a spindle, disc, and caliper set up from a '70s Camaro, and an offset upper control arm shaft with a big stack of shims. It claims to have better geometry with the taller Camaro spindles. But having all these shims mimimizes clearence from the control arm and headers. When driving, the control arms move like they should, and the hearders get dented, restricted, and look bad. Now I'm replacing the headers and don't want these to get dented. Any replacement control arms that are made for a 68 Chevelle with a 70s Camaro spindle? Or any other suggestions? Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem. My control arms are not hitting my headers, but there isn't enough room to add more shims, to bring the camber in enough to be correct. I'm an 1 1/2" out of alignment.
I'm now in the process of installing adjustable uppers.

IIRC, the "F-body" spindles are similar to the later B-body spindles, except some B-body used 12" brakes... Global West used to make control arms for the tall spindle setups ( the arms were shorter, so you didn't need the offset shafts or quite as many shims).

You could also call SC&C and get the SPC upper arms... More clearance at the arm, plus NO shims, so even more clearance. The do require the mounting holes in the frame to be opened up slightly.
