It sounds like the small arm that the cable, which moves the indicator, attaches to has broken off. Glueing will not hold as I tried that in my 69 El Camino some years ago. I dropped the steering column and forgot to disconnect the cable from the column...my bad! Anyway, try to drill a small hole where the arm was and push a small metal roll pin through; trim one to the same length as the arm from the base where it attached. Make sure that the pin is in the base all the way for strenght and so it does not wiggle out over time. ANother alternative is to try a very small screw where the pin was. Other than that, you will have to find another indicator.
