Hello Everyone, I am new to Team Chevelle but not to Chevelles. I am torn on this and need some advise. I am in the market for a 66 SS Convertible. I owned this very make back in the late 80's. It was black with black int. white top and 4 speed. Non original 396 but a true SuperSport car otherwise. I sold the car in 1990.
Fast forward 22 years later and I am ready for another. I know where there is a triple black 66 SS convertible CLONE. 4 speed w/posi and bucket seats. Condition is about 3.5 to 4 out of 5.
Now the question, what is a realistic price to pay? I know the real deal numbers matching cars are $50k to $70k + so thats out of reach.
Next are the true SS cars with NOM's and trans between $25k and $40k depending on condition.
This car is in the $30k to $35k range. Is that too much and should I hold out and keep searching for a real SS in this price range?
I am looking for some honest feedback.
Thanks,
Rich
