When I was younger I wouldn't buy a new car unless it was a true SS. As the years went by I got into buying used 65 to 67 Corvettes as my toys and the last one I had of that era was a matching number car. I got into Camaro's and started looking for a true SS and found a 69 that was a SS but was not a matching numbers car and enjoyed it more because I did what I wanted to it. When I sold that car I bought another 69 Camaro that was in much better shape then the first one and it was what my friend would call a "Plain Jane" because it was just a modified base Camaro. Well that "Plain Jane" Camaro won a lot of trophies and became the car I owned the longest (15yrs.) and probably the one I enjoyed the most. Now at age 64 I still would not own a Cloned SS of anything and hope to get my "Plain Jane" Malibu on the road this spring after a long detailing process and it will stay a "Plain Jane" because that's one of the things I like about it.

I can appreciate all cars both real SS's or fakes. But if it is a fake don't have a sweep dash in it or something else that's real obvious. If your going to fake it go all the way with it or to me it's just a big turn off. If you have a Malibu and it's got a big block in it people aren't going to expect that as much and if it's a 4 speed that's just icing on the cake. Any car can become a nice street car you just have to get over it saying SS on it.
