If none of the gasket sticks to the manifold when you pull it off, you might get away with it, but new gaskets are only $22 or so, is it worth taking the chance ?

If I did not damage them taking the intake off, I would re-use them in a heart beat.

Bill, it's probably better to err on the side of caution. I went ahead and pulled the gaskets up.

69 Ratt vette, I removed the gaskets carefully, andset them aside for emergency use only. This engine's going in my wifes car. If I end up cahsing a vacuum leak, she won't be too happy with me.

i have reused intake gaskets many times, i would seal the gasket down to the head and then use vasoline on the intake side. so that way intake swaps was easy to do. no problems here.

I have reused my fel pros many times never had an issue.

ddeenis, ross, I went ahead and installed the intake with new gaskets, and the engine is in the car. I keep your suggestions in mind for the next go round.

Most are probably more expereinced than me....Im one of those guys that expects the one time I was to take a chance using and old gasket it would be that time I have a vaccuum leat at the intake. I dont doubt it can be done...Im positive it oucld be especially on inspection if it looks fine.....I just wouldnt for myself cause I mentally couldnt get passed it...it would be the one thing that kept me up at night before I fired the motor worrying if that was my weak link.
