I went and bought one of these intake manifold.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-7520/

Coz i had one of these kits lying around

I got myself
1 of these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-534-195/
and one of these.

Well. everything fine i thought.. the manifolds saids Square bore and i got on good authority the throttle bodies are Holley 4150 Square bore.

But when i got the stuff home i tried to fit one of the throttlebodies onto the manifold and well.. lets say it just didnt fit as it was suppose to.. the bolt pattern were way to narrow.

So i would need an adapter plate i guess.. But which kind?! anybody have any idea?! at least 2" high so that i clear the distributor cap. ;D

Gotta ask ,your trying to put 1800cfm's worth of TB's on what engine combo?
Bolt pattern on that manifold does look a little narrow.
Also the TB's look too wide to fit together -you looked for the center to center on that manifold?

ever notice we have an EFI section? it's under Perf. A Holley EFI engineer hangs out there regularly. I suggest you do a new post over there with title something "Dual Holley TBI setup" and see what you get.

Habe you got any Hollsy carb you could set on that manifold, see if the bolt holes line up? It might be drilled for the old smaller 4-bbl pattern because two normal Holleys won't physically fit. Try turning the TBI sideways too.

Tom, done.. and Done...

Mike, just to answer your question, it will go onto a 489cui Bigblock, that runt 13.8:1 compression on Ethanol (E85). And yes the TB's are to wide original, but you can strip some components of both the TBI bodies.. like the idle sensor is only neede on one of them. The gas regulator you can strip completely and block off, and run an external regulator instead so you have a single point of gas flow control for both of them.

If worse comes to worse you could weld up the holes...redrill and tap new holes. Aluminum is EASY to weld given that the welder knows what he is doing. You might need to surface plain the manifold carb deck after the welding to assure a good seal but if you are REALLY stuck for an answer this might be a way out.

most 4 barl intakes have a dual bolt pattern, but the dual looks like it only has one, mainly the intake was designed for 2 AFB style carbs, Holleys wont fit
see if you can find a single 4 intake with the dual pattern, and if the bolt holes line up with them

I was under the impression you could only fit Edelrock/Carter style carbs on that intake--spacing is too narrow for Holley's.
That intake certainly wouldn't be the optimum choice for a high compression big block application--probably only make a little more than a single carb/throttle body on a decent manifold, with a lot more headaches.

Yeah i have a Stealth and a Performer RPM intake and the throttle bodies fit fine on them.. no problem at all. But i need to run two throttle bodies so i will have to find some kind of midway solution to this problem.. (manufacturing an adapter for AFB styled carbs to 4150 holley flanged).

The spacing is way to narrow yes, but by modifying the throttle bodies they will fit.

Probably not optimum but if i had run on ordinary gas and not E85 i probably had went with the single carb/throttle body solution too.. But as of now the single throttle body cand accomodate the extra fuel that needs to go into the engine.

yes, tried to mount them sideways, same bolt pattern issue and the throttle mechanism dont go free unless i space em up like 3 inches..
