Blinkers don't work

I can not figure out what is wrong with my left and right side blinkers but my emerg flashers work fine. I have replaced the relay and I have power at the fuse box. I pulled the wheel and looked over the assembly there but to be honest I really did not know what to look for once I got it apart.

Did you change the "flasher relay" at the fuse box or behind the dash under the center speaker? The one behind the dash is for the blinkers, The one at the fuse box is for the flashers.

Go back to basics. Make sure both, or all 4 lights have good bulbs of the right type installed, and there is a good ground to them.

You should have a wiring diagram for this.

I believe for the turn signals, power goes to the flasher, when the ignition is on, then to the turn switch, then to the left or right side as the switch is set. The bulbs are grounded via the socket and, or, a ground wire.

So, with the ignition on, you should have power at the flasher input wire.

Next, pull the steering wheel and check for power there, in and out.

It should be easy, since the turn signals and horn are the only wires there.

Grounds are important. I tried my turn signals last Sat, with the dash sitting loose on a milk crate and the steering column, with a ground wire alligator clipped between the dash and the car. Left worked, right did not.

Luckily, when I bolted the dash in, both sides worked.

I had this problem a couple months ago when I was getting my car finished. All the lights worked and after I installed new bulbs in the tail light sockets the signals quit. The 4 ways still worked. Will the signal light on the dash come on but not flash or do you have nothing at all?

Were the signal lights working before and have you made any changes to the car since they did work?
When I was troubleshooting mine I checked all of the ground wires in the trunk first. When I swapped the two flasher units around my signals still did not work. With wiring, you may have more resistance (bad connection, old wire) and it takes more amps to overcome the extra load. You may also want to try a bigger flasher unit for a heavier load that you would use for a trailer.
