BBC casting number confusion

Bought a 1972 Chevelle not too long ago and am in process of doing a restoration on all the things needing attention. In the process , was figuring out what have exactly under the hood, as the car was said to be a 454. Found the cylinder head casting numbers and they are 396 heads. But the casting number for the block has me puzzled as it is M015446, which does not seem to match any GM block casting number from any listing I can find from any source. Does anybody have any idea what this casting number represents to help identify this big block motor in this chevelle? Any help would be great for this weird casting number.
Thank you in advance for the help.

 Plain as can be. Also, dthomas2 should post his cylinder head PN & dates too. Most all BBC heads are not CI specific with exceptions like when particular cast numbers went out of production. Likely he has 454 heads on a truck/suburban motor unless they were changed. At any rate confirm if they are CC or OC and not the junk peanut port heads.

As stated you have a 454.

So since you made a mistake on block casting id wheres a pic of the head casting id #'s so we see them or could you at least post what you think casting #'s are on the heads.

In some cases multiple bbc's used same heads from GM on 396/402/427 & same heads on 402 (still called 396 in 1970-71 etc) & 454 bbc's too.
