I haven't been able to find any information on this but is it legal for a new car dealer to insist on doing all service work? The story goes that my wife's aunt from Kentucky is in Tennesee and having problems with her new Saturn. What I'm being told is that Saturn(dealer I guess) told her that if anyone BUT a Saturn dealer works on the car, her warranty is void.
I thought this was illegal but I can't find anything to back myself up on this.

Anyone know either way?

Thanks

Thanks Schurkey, I had read through some of M-M but I couldn't find what I wanted. I don't know how she made out, I haven't had time to sit down and actually talk to my wife in about 2 days.

I'll pass this along.

Thanks again

I guess she was on vacation and the car started overheating. I just talked to her briefly and she made it home OK. At some point, she was told that if anyone BUT the dealer worked on it, her warranty was void.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that she was told if any but a dealer did warranty work, it wouldn't be paid for. She may be confused. I set her straight so I think it's all set now.

Thanks again
