Anyone have any instructions or pictures for how to assemble the drip rails in a 69 SS? I've noticed the drip rails have a nice chrome bead on one side which I believe faces out, but I'm not sure if these should be flush to the crease in the door or if I should leave a slight gap.

Does anyone know for example, what is used to fasten the drip rails to the body? The holes in the drip rails are as large as a peanut, which I guess allows for adjustment.... is it screws that goes here??

Are you sure you have the correct parts or description?

The "Drip Rails" are on the edge of the roof, above the windows... There should be no holes. The ALUMINUM drip moldings snap over the steel drip rails that are part of the roof....

Are you referring to the "window guides" or "fuzzies"? These attach to the door and quarter panel, both inside and out, on each side of the side glass opening...

The chrome should face away from the glass, with a small thin flat rubber piece too... There should be "clips" that snap into those "peanut" holes, and also a few smaller (tiny) screws near the ends...

Depending on the year of your Chevelle (for your '69?), the inner fuzzies may attach to the door panel (68-72), or directly to the metal door (64-67)...

I forget, but I think the "fuzzy" guides go on the interior side, and the plain rubber go on the exterior side of the glass...

Kelly, I believe what you're referring to is the roof rail. They are held to the A pillar and the door opening with screws, and there is a strip of tape on the top edge, between the roof rail and the car body. The tape is hard to find, I used 3M strip caulk.
I can't remember where they line up, but I do know I installed mine into the holes that were already drilled in my car.
Try a search on this site using "roof rail" as your criteria, and search the Chevelle Tech, Body Shop, and Restoration Corner sections to see if your question has been answered in any of them. I'll try to remember to look at my car tomorrow and see where they're mounted, but my memory ain't too good. :clonk:

Best pics I could get, it's 3/8"~1/2" inside the vertical part of the roof. Sorry for the glare and poor focus.
