Just installed a 700R4 and looking into shifters for the 4 speed auto.
I had a Hurst pistol grip with my 350 trans, it was fine, just looking into options. I read the reviews on the Hammer and am trying to decipher the "bad installations' from the problems the shifter may have.
If ya have one let me know! How long have you been using it? Any issues? PIX? Thanks!!

After reading the manual, it looks like it works just like the Megashifter (what I have in my Z28), just a different form factor. Lever in front you pull up on to get it to move between Park and Drive, and then it goes into ratchet mode.

Also works the same way as the QuickSilver, except on the QuickSilver (what I have in my Chevelle), the shifter handle itself is the lever you pull up and down to go between Park and Drive.

I would not be surprised at all if the basic internal mechanisms for all of them are roughly the same...

I bought one for our 68 Camaro when they first came out (maybe 12-14yrs ago. Maybe 16?). Still works great and indicator light still works. I bought it to replace the pistol grip style that was in when I bought the car. Just never liked putting my hand on the side shifting rather than on top of the shifter. I'm use to resting my hand on top of the shifter which felt awkward on the pistol grip. Now days since the Chevelle is running, wife drives the Camaro. She prefers the Staple shifter that's in the Chevelle. Caveat though, She nor I liked the original shifter feel. I have since installed the DPJ Fabricating TS3 Ratchet insert in the stock shifter. I like it better than the aftermarket Ratchet shifters. So that's what I'm changing her Camaro over to.
