Jegs intakes aren't the best. On the dyno they came in second to last. Last being no name eBay specials.

Wieand followed by a extremely close second, Edelbrock.

whats the purpose of the car, cruiser, street n strip?

just noticed it was OER, not Jegs brand. The vid I watched where they were doing intake shootouts on the dyno, OER wasn’t one of the brands tested

I‘d probably recommend the Edelbrock Torker II 2.0. 2500RPM to 6500RPM #5061 intake

the Performer 2.0 is only from idle to 5500, the RPM version likely wont fit due to height but goes from 1500-6500

brodix has a low profile intake that works well, not sure if still avail.

The Weiand stealth also sits pretty low compared to an Edelbrock and also works well.

I forgot to ask and mention this…..

Are you running a Ethanol based fuel?

Ethanol based fuels are more susceptible to vapor lock. You may try a non-ethanol based fuel, octane booster or even a higher octane before changing your manifold or blocking the exhaust crossover ports

you may even consider wrapping your fuel line in the engine bay to keep it cooler with a thermal barrier before more invasive repairs.

If you have 1/4” available from your air cleaner to the hood, install a holley 108-70. Install it correctly, intake, thin gasket, metal shield, thick gasket, carb.

Wrap all the fuel lines under the hood with reflective heat shield like Summit SUM-350137-1 Heat sleeve.
Make sure the fuel line isn’t touching a heat source. No coolant hose, or anything metal.

Curious to know if the OP is using a factory style air cleaner assembly. Otherwise, a 2.5" air cleaner element will buy more room allowing more clearance. For street use you will NEVER know the difference between a 3" element vs 2.5".

I would do whatever possible to get an air-gap type intake in there. It DOES make a huge difference in keeping the carb cooler.
