Hi, I'm running out of good weather here, and I need to get my car running well enough that the body shop can start and move it around when they go about finishing up the body and paint. I have a Sanden compressor as part of my serpentine belt system that I don't want to hurt by starting the engine without the AC system being hooked up and charged. I'm wondering if I could make a loop with a hose from suction to liquid side of the compressor and put some oil in it so it can run without sucking in moisture and stay lubricated. Or maybe there's another simpler way out. Any ideas??? Thanks!

No you can't do that, it would try to pump oil and destroy itself.
What you can do is disconnect the wires to the pulley clutch to keep the compressor from operating.

Without any freon or power, it won't even activate.

Okay, so it'll just freewheel when I get the engine running. Good. I just had to separate $279 from my wallet for the waterpump I need. Ouch!
