Any cat "experts" out there? Need help, cat keeps peeing on the floor.
I've got two cats, a female that a mix of siamese and something, lol and a male thats a mix of tabby and something else. Anyway, I don't know if my problem is because I keep changing the brand of cat litter every once in a while or what, but the female cat has been crapping and peeing in the room instead of the cat litter. I've got one of those enclosed plastic cat litters (with a plastic swing door), and it seems like no matter how dirty the litter gets, the male seems to go in there, but not the female. Is it just a female cat thing? Ok, truth betold, I know I'm not the greatest cat owner (heck I didn't even want the cats!!! LoL) being that I HATE having to change the cat litter every 5 mins. I put enough cat litter in the box and change it every 3 days or so. I know, I know, I should get hanged for that
. Well, about 2-3 weeks ago, I bought a big old "tub" of "Tidy Cats" cat litter, and it seems like the female cat hasn't wanted to go in the litter box with that cat litter. I had found a "dingle berry" on the floor last week, so I checked the litter box, and it wasn't really all that dirty. It still had A LOT of fresh cat litter. I end up letting it slide figureing maybe it got stuck to the female cat's butt/hair and she brought it out with her. Well today, I find myself dreaming about water trickling. I open my eyes and I keep hearing what sounded like water trickling. I look at the male cat and he's laying on the floor. I look over at the female cat, and she's sitting on some plastic bags (that have clothes) which are set on this big "Rubber maid" thing that has 5 plastic shelves. I didn't think it was her cause as I leaned towards her and reached for her, she didn't move. So I looked around, then noticed pee trickling down from the 2nd shelf to the first (floor) shelf, then she took off and ran under the bed
 So am I being a bad cat "care taker?" Or does this female cat need a good beat down? LoL I'm joking, really!
Other then having to clean the cat litter more often, is my problem the cat herself, or could it be that I've ben changing the brand of cat litter and possibly confusing them? Thanks! :beers:
