For those of you who have kept up with the 25yr restoration.
I just got an email update from one of the pilots that we had been training (surprisingly, he was a good guy on our side).
The plane is STILL sitting at the airport in Ada, OK---------------UNPROTECTED, OUTSIDE IN ALL THE WEATHER, with a fuel problem.
Here is the email.

"Sierra Hotel is still sitting in Ada. We have been up to Ada twice. The second time we were about ready to depart when we have the right fuel pressure falls to zero. It appears the transmitter either require servicing or replacement".

Guess what?
They have no spare parts nor maintenance equipment!!! If everyone remembers, we had to empty the hanger. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the spare parts and servicing equipment we had for an A26 are GONE and the hanger is closed and locked up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN, I sure hate about that!!!!!!!!!!
I don't often wish for bad things to happen to people (CAF is an exception), but maybe there is a little karma here, you suppose?

Tom, thanks for posting. I was just thinking over the weekend, I wonder if that airplane is still sitting outside decaying. What a shame.

Just a random thought here, but it has always seemed to me that non-profit groups, church committees, HOA groups, etc are places where busybodies who want to feel important often go to get their ego stroked. Not all of the people in these groups fit this profile by any means, but in many cases, yes.

The way your group was treated by the ass-jacks at CAF, and the way they had no plan for getting the airplane to another location and/or group, just proves that they're a cluster of power hungry amateurs in way over their heads when it comes to running a large organization.

Tom, thanks for the update, like others here I followed the story but didn't want to ask you for any further updates, I figured you would provide them as you felt it necessary.

I would cause them as much pain as you possibly can, even if the new people are "good". Call me vindictive, because I am, but in your shoes I would watch it decay till the wings fall off before offering as much as an email reply of " 🤷‍♂️ " let alone parts or advice.

Hoping for the outcome @schovil69 mentioned.

Where's all the A-26 mechanics and parts when you need them.... Oh that's right you (David Oliver) crapped on the team that built the plane....

CAF sounds more like a pilot's organization rather than a team organization understanding that it takes everyone working together to keep the birds in the air...

Thanks for the update Tom.

Well, even if CAF was to return it to our group, that cannot happen.
REMEMBER, in an earlier update, I explained that we had to clean out, and vacate the hanger, because as long as we had one thing in the hanger----------WE HAD TO PAY RENT!!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOO, now ALLLLLLLLL the spare parts, fixtures, support equipment and tools are GONE.
You may remember, a guy in N. Carolina who has 2 A26s, sent a semi to Ada and loaded everything. Thus, even if the plane was turned back to us, we have NO WAY to support or maintain it!!!! IT'S GONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Heartbreaking, but it's reality.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO, what is CAF going to do with a broke A26, miles away, on a small airport, with no spare parts, tools, support equipment, sitting out in the weather, in Tornado Alley????

NOT MY WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I bitter? NO, not Tom Parsons.
By the way, we still need to find a home for the tug. That's about all we have left.

CAF (IMHO wrong letters for Miserable SOB's) need to follow through with their Demands and come get that bird and get it properly stored indoors, my dad was in the USAF and would be beyond pissed off about the whole thread, when I was a kid he had me help him glue model airplane kits together, just like model cars, then he painted and put stripes etc on the then we hung them on different length strings like they were flying in my bedroom, I cant remember exactly how many but guess at least 12, Tom I'm happy you put it behind you and don't let it raise your blood pressure 👍👍🙂

I hope they choke on that bag of dicks they are sucking.

One of the things that greatly saddens me, is that once we started going to the airshow circuit, I had told all the Team Chevelle members that if they were at an airport when we were there, I would give them a ride. Guys, I'm sorry that I could not keep that promise. And I would have had the pilots do a simulated low level bombing run, like this.
Trust me, that's a ride!

Two of my 3 boys have had GOOD rides, but I never got to take my wife or oldest son up.

Again, is Tom Parsons bitter?
You guess!

Yeah Tom, I was all stoked when y'all had plans to bring the bird to Birmingham. Sorry it didn't come to fruition. The CAF idiots now have no way to move it from Ada, so it just sits. I hope Mr. Oliver gets royally roasted for his boondoggle decision.

This situation really grinds my gears. I sent David Oliver a pointed email today reminding him of their lousy decision. Klinger decided to eat a Jeep, maybe David can swallow an A-26.

What will you do if they decide to return the plane and give up

all rights and ownership to your group?

Well Mike, first, that is not going to happen (CAF is not going to "loose face").
BUT, if they did, we cannot take it. We have no way to support or maintain it. ALLLLLLLLLL our support equipment, fixtures and most importantly, the inventory of spare parts which our group acquired over a 25yr period, is gone!!!!!!!!!
Now, at our age, Jim and I are not able to start all over. I was 63 when I joined the group, now I'm 82.
All I can hope for today is that karma catches up with David Oliver and punishes him severely!!!
