I need A little help on my 65 elk,I tried to charge my a/c vacuumed it and charge but could only get it to take one can of r-12 i assumed I was on the low side the one closest to the firewall Iwas I right? Also someone told me the drier may be plugged also where is the expansion valve located? Thanks. and yes the compressor is working.

Ok, the low pressure side is the large diameter hose. the expansion valve will be in the small line, close to the evaporator. if any line is icing up, that is where your blockage would be. If the system has been open for any time at all, you will need to replace the dryer. If you need more help, call me 803-492-9476
