Where would you put the distributor?

I'm sure there's a carb type manifold available, google for it.

make sure a standard distributor works, IIRC there's some kind of mount for the oil pump drive in there.

regular SBC bellhousing and flywheel stuff works. If the car was originally an automatic make sure you've got way to operate the clutch. SBC exhaust works if it fits the Vette chassis.

There's several vendors who will fix up the computer, get rid of the VATS stuff, smog equipment controls, etc if you want to go that way.

Paul, are you up on these? I've inherited a partially completed project, a 58 Caddy flower car, much like a hearse. It's huge. It has a low mileage 96 or 97 iron head LT1 already installed. I discovered that water tube while hooking up the engine wiring harness. I thought it was AIR tube, for a smog setup. It is water, so where does it go? There are a lot of water outlet/inlet tubes on the front of this engine.

I guess I need to get off my butt and find a forum for these things.

OK, thx Paul. It might Weds before I'm over there again but I'll get a pic.
