awesome Brian!! you have the car combo'd up very nice and it's payng off...:thumbsup:

Jake I know you like John...j/k..

if it's hooking and bogging is that suspension? Pulling down the motor sounds more like converter...IIRC that's a high rev'er, the converter can't be too happy trying to carry the load from 2000.....just thinkin' out loud and trying to learn here....

okay that makes sense John, I didn't know what it is flashing but I did know Jake's power is up high. What kind of tuning changes would be involved in that?.....

okay Jake/John, I see what you're both saying and I'm not down to the data logging level, just time slips and notes. As far as TB vs FB most guys I run with say there is very little performance advantage if any with the TB, they run it for the RT (this of course means you have the right converter).

I have a Coan billet 5000 and an ATI 5000 and the flash between the 2 is quite different. The ATI is looser (flashes quicker) but less efficient on the big end compared to the Coan (flashes a little slower) which gives me back MPH (more efficient). I guess what I'm trying to say is Jake originally posed it as a suspension question and to me it seems more like how the converter is reacting to 2 different launch methods.

As far as seeing the basic same ET with a better 60' pass to pass at least for my car it's not that uncommon (I run it a ton). This happens with no tune change, 3 hun is starting to get pretty tight. It doesn't take much staging to scrub off 3 hun and I will also see that right lane vs left lane at some tracks. Also as John memtioned just a slight difference in shift point (especially 1 to 2) will cause it in one of my runs.

I'm not arguing either, both of you are at a higher level than I am so this is an interesting topic for someone still trying to figure all this out....;)

hope this is okay Brian...

Yes, the problem with that though is the engine will tend to load up at that low of rpm. Every technique will result in different characteristics. It's all about finding the correct tuneup for the way you want to leave.
As in complete tune....chassis, engine, shocks, etc.
and that is the point....as our friend Mr Straub likes to say...combo...combo...combo....

several simple variables at play here....
