Need some help figuring out the warning lights on my sweep dash
None of them come on
I rewired the car with a painless kit and everything else is functional (with exception of courtesy/dome lights which aren't connected yet...opgi backorder funny business)
Is that tied into the dash warning lights?
Any ideas?

IMO one is better off with aftermarket gauges rather than idiot lights anyway. Autometer makes some fine oil pressure, water temp, volt gauges.

Agreed, BLM, I have those already up and running...but I'd like to have those warning lights hooked up too.
Aren't all the lights supposed to come on briefly at key on?

If I recall correctly the gen light comes on briefly when key is turned to on position. Maybe someone else will chime in but I suspect one would have to have the idiot lights wired separately and with their own sensor.

Ahh yes, that makes sense
I forgot to include that I Updated the voltage regulator and am confused about the gen light wiring..both sides to gen light need to be +hot?

The oil, gen & temp lights will turn on when the key is in the on position then go off when moved to the start position. This is for a bulb test so you can tell if one is out or not

This should get you going. It is for a 1970 Chevelle, but I assume the 71 is quite similar. I also have a 71 with sweep dash and will trace my idiot light wiring too someday.

You can not have both dummy lights and gauges in the same car unless you install separate sending units for BOTH and run dedicated wires for BOTH.
