i have a 70 malibu that i am cloning to ss. had a sweep style dash and now i have guages with tach, water, and volt. I have the harness for the gauges but was wandering if i need a new engine harness for it. thanks chris

The answer is yes or no.......the engine harness you got now won't work with the gage dash.......but you can move the pins around to make it work.do a search for "ss gage harness" or some such wording and there is a step-by-step instrutions on how to do that.

No you don't need a new engine harness. You have two main harnesses under the hood, the engine harness and the forward lamp harness. The forward lamp harness has wiring for the amp gauge, there is no special, gauge only, wiring in the engine harness. You can either buy a new forward lamp harness or add the needed wiring for the amp gauge.
