70 SS454 overheating problem

Yeah the shrouds on the 69's and 70's suck. The cheapest way is to buy a shroud for a 68 Chevelle. They cover the whole radiator.

I found one a guy had on his Chevelle that turned out to be from a late 70's truck. I bought one new, and had to do a lot of trimming on it, but fits beutifually now and covers the whole radiator.

Have you thought about a high flow water pump? New aftermarket water pumps are improved and pump about 30% more water. With a full ceverage shroud AND a high flow pump, that MIGHT take care of your problem?

Does this Elkie have a Big Block in it? They are tough to keep cool with A/C so you have to take extra steps.
