I'm getting ready to drop my windshield in my Chevelle and have some questions about it.

Some say you are supposed to use support blocks to hold everything in place. This seems easy to do for the back glass, but how is it done on the front?

It seems that this would be hard since where the bottom of the windshield sits is at an angle. Also I saw somewhere sometime ago that there might be clips to hold the winshield up that bolt on to the cowl. Is this correct, do I need them and where can I get them?

Any help is appreciated as I was looking to do this tonight.

jerryr,

Thanks agin for the info, I do appreciate it!! Do you know where I get these and if I really need them before I install everything. Mine were rusted to pieces so I chucked them............

In reply to your other post, I have the Fisher Body Manual for 70 and it seems to be pretty good. Much better than the Assembly Manual but it's for all 70 models not just the Chevelle. I just got it and used it to assemble my doors. It still requires some thinking due to the fact that it covers all the GM cars but it does help.........!!

Tony, I looked through all my repo catalogs and couldn't find these stops anywhere. Maybe someone else on here has a source?

I would imagine they are the same on any A body, so as a last resort, maybe a parts car somewhere.

I also searched ebay.....no luck.
