I am helping a friend restore a 69 chevelle. We just put the 396 back into the car that has been sitting without an engine since 1979. The wiring harness appears to be intact and I hooked everything up except the headlights and side markers. After hooking the battery up there is no power to anything. Does anybody have any idea where I should start diagnosing the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

there's a through the wall type conector on the radiator support top side passenger. that's the power supply to the horn relay and the front of the car including the lighting. i'm sure i could be wrong but i don't have a fuseable link at my starter. there's no main fuse. i've found that grounds are often the fault. have you traced from a schmetic (sp sorry).

hope it helps. john
