I think the 68-72s are wider than the older A bodies by about an inch. Is this about right?
Bolt right up. You need to use the upper arms from your 68-72 car. The lower arms are the same.Do they bolt in? as in I can shorten my rear by an inch by changing to a 66-67 rear?
Why wont the upper arms cross over? I've got a 68 12 bolt I want to install in my 66 elco, do I need the uppers from a 68-72?Bolt right up. You need to use the upper arms from your 68-72 car. The lower arms are the same.
Exactly right......match the upper arms to the frame.Use the uppers from whatever car you're bolting into. If you're installing the rear into a 68, use the 68 uppers. The mounting points on the diff are the same, the locating points on the frame are what's different.
