If i swap a front sway bar from a 79 ws6 trans am (1 1/16 " for $10)to my 66 ss, will i have to drill holes spaced wider apart where it mounts to the underside of each fram rail? Also, will i need to use the part that mounts to the a arm from the 66 or the 79?

I think you will use the 66 mounting parts. I have a 1 1/8" bar and that is what I did. Just get 1 1/8" bushings for your original mounting shells and use the 66 "A" arm mounts (you can all the soft parts in polyurethane, polygraphite or rubber).

I put a Trans Am front bar on my El Camino, I used Energy suspension frame mounts and end links for a Chevelle. The frame mounts are universal, just take the measurement of your sway bar, mine was 1 1/4'.

I just bought one from a 77 Z28, and it's a 1.25" piece. $35, will bolt it up next week. maybe even Saturday... From what I heard, all the 2nd gen F-body front sway bars are a simple bolt in.
