Moving Shifter from column to the floor. My Console sits high with the mounting brackets, on the floor. Brackets were purchased from Ground Up. This is for the Automatic and have a TH350.

Is the Carpet cut and tucked up into the console, to eliminate the gap between the floor and console body ? Thanx Guys.

My 67 Auto Console sets on top of the carpet,
the carpet is only sliced to let/attach the brackets to the floor/console.
and I bought my brackets from GrdUp also !

Everything fits nice and even, no large gaps .

My Console has long tabs up front, for mounting the Metal bracket to the floor. One on each side, which measures about 1.5 inches. Guess I could trim it back but just wonder if people were cutting back their carpets.

The console should sit up off the floor just a bit
I actually have to push the carp[et down to access the front screws on my carpet, but I have some extra padding and the carpet is only cut out around the console brackets

Thanx guys. I have to cut back the carpet and insulation, for it to sit in.
