I broke

the slider that goes around the shifter shaft on my '66 console. I think I remember seeing one advertised somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Anyone know who sells this? I am also open to suggestions sbout what I can use as an alternate - plastic, 3 ring binder cover? Other??

Try a "brush-like" slider that is similar to what you would put along the bottom of a door as a sweep. I put this type of stuff along the bottom of the driveway gate to keep the dogs from sticking their heads out.
It comes in various bristle lengths and usually has a metal bead along the back edge. It can be cut to fit and then attached under the console top. It will brush along the shifter as it moves, returning to fill the hole as it passes. I bought 4"X48" lengths from McMaster-Carr for pretty cheap.
