I just started installing new vent window seals purchased from Metro Soffseal. While removing the forward leg of the old OEM seals, I discovered that seals were held in place by 4 small metal clips that were clamped to a thin steel blade that was molded into the rubber seal, much like the steel blades used to support rubber windshield wiper blades. The new Metro seals look good but they don’t appear to have the steel blades molded into the rubber, so if you attempt to install the clips, there’s nothing for the clip to clamp to other than a soft rubber section. My question is - Do you reuse the metal clips with the new Metro seals, or just use seal adhesive to hold the seal in place? Any insight would be appreciated.
