Not sure, but there was a 63 split window on last night but do not think it had a 454.
And a 57 Vette had a ZL1 stuffed into it, 620 HP, went for something like $375,000.00

 

My FIL was watching Barrett Jackson and said he saw a 63 Duntov built Mark IV 454 cu in split window Corvette.....Factory built and about 100 made. I didn't see this show and highly question this car's existance.

I thought I was fairly knowledgable in factory BBC cars. Anyone?

Even GM wasn't fooling with Mk IV 454's in '63. I didn't see the BJ replay with that car, but either the announcer screwed it up, or there was a misunderstanding of the history of the car. When Alan Decadena (spelling) announced BJ the year before and several years previous, the mistakes on American cars were obvious and frequent, but I thought the current crew did a much better job this year with him gone.

not the 454's, but they were still developing the MK IV for 396 cid (1965 release date) and I think the "porcupine" valve arrangement in the Z11 427 "Mystery Motor" that was based on the old 409 head and block (but displacing 427")

the only "Duntov" corvettes I remember were the "Grand Sports" in 1963 and they has 377" SBC's http://www.grandsportregistry.com/63_history.htm

Tom, those are the "Grand Sports" with the 377...... oh, wait :clonk: i just got it..... it might be a reproduction 1963 Grand Sport .... uhh duh.
