Have a question for you guys that's bugging me. I am building a 496 pump gas motor for my 64. I am using 18cc forged pistons. 0 deck. .039 head gaskets.

I have my local guy here building me a set of in house aluminum heads. As of now the heads are 123 cc chambers that would put me at 9.8.1. He is going to flat cut the heads .015 to get me at 10.1 no charge.

Now my question is this. Should I spend the extra cash and angle mill heads to 115 cc. That would put me at 10.5.1. Will there be enough power increase to justify the dollars spent.

Chris Straub will be picking the cam.

Angle milling also affects pushrod clearance. My pushrods were rubbing at the bottom of the pushrod tube.

Also as mentioned by Mike, the headers were actually drawn into the block more. I had to dimple a header tube as it was contacting a motor mount boss.

It was still a better option than buying pistons and rebalancing which likely would of approached 1000.00.
