Hi. Folks! I am a rookie on this site although I have been sitting in the background a bit trying to learn from what appears to be some very knowledgeable folks. At the risk of sounding foolish I thought I would ask a couple of questions. I probably know enough to be dangerous, and there in lays the problem I dont want to mess up this build.I am a little new at trying to put together a strong performance engine on my own. I currently have 468 bbc block that I purchased that has been rebuilt with some good stuff, scat crank , eagle rods and dome pistons.I'll need to find some one to go over the motor internals with me and help put it together. It is supposed to be a 10.5 to 11.1 comp. motor. How can I verify what the compression would be with a set of the new afr 265 heads, and how do i measure the piston domes properly so that I know that the heads would even fit., before buying them.I would like to put together a very strong street motor , that i also want to try on the local strip. I have to choose a cam yet...thinking in the 660 lift area ,hydraulic roller, with good parts to go with it , with a port matched victor junior intake and a 950 carb. I have a 66 nova "pro street" car that I am trying to put together from the ground up. The car was already a Project car when I bought it and so I have my hands full. The car currently has a 4.56 strange rear end , 3800 Coan converter and built turbo 350.The car currently has 33x21.50 sportsman street tires on it.I was also wondering if it would be cost efficient or practical to order the heads from somebody like Wolfplace and the cam from E Straub as opposed to somebody from here in Ont. Canada , maybe they could offer an opinion or 2 as well if possible.Any other thoughts from folks would be appreciated as well
