Looking at selling the following engine. What would be a good asking price...

The engine is a 454 and is from a 1982 Chevy 1-ton truck. It has the heads (unsure if they are peanut port), the intake manifold, crank, rods, cam, pistons, and everything else internally. It does not have have the carb, pullies, serpentine, water or fuel pump or any brackets.
The cam is bad.

How much would you want for it if it was yours?

I would only pay $500 if they were peanuts, but up to around 800 - $ 1000 if the heads were Large Ovals, depending on the miles (more if it had rect heads). That's if the Crank is good, and it hasn't spun a rod bearing. If that's the case, it's not worth a lot more than a core price ($ 400 or so). Those are the going rates in my area right now.

Fred.
