Well my machine shop is closing in on finishing my motor, and when I get it home, my next task will be to tackle the 4 speed conversion.

I have the console and bucket seats here, along with shifter, tranny (thanks wally), etc..

What I am trying to figure out is what else I should be doing now, in preparation, that might might the 4 speed conversion easier. Is there anything that is easier to do before the engine is reinstalled? Right now all I have done is bolt on the frame bracket.

I also just picked up a 4 speed column assembly, so I guess I should install that prior to installing the motor.

Any help or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

For the pedals, I recommend that you try to find used OEM pedals. The repro pedals have a bad reputation for fit. Sooner or later, a set will become available through the ad area of this site. Since that takes some time, it would make sense to start looking for those parts now.

For what it's worth, I recommend using a GM OEM clutch fork. The after market forks are about 1" shorter than the OEM fork. I could not get the after market fork to work on my car.
