Which would be the better cam? I plugged in all the info I could into a program I have called Desktop Dyno 2003. Here are the charts and graphs compairing the Comp 270H & 280H with my setup (as close to it as I could get).

Which would be the best one for M-21 Muncie and 4.10 Posi?

I was leaning toward the 280H cam until I played with this program. The HP numbers might be a little high, I dunno. I was just wondering what was better...a higher HP rating or a longer flat Torque rating?

Any ideas? This engine is basically the 325HP '67 396 engine. Just camming it and porting the 390 closed heads and adding headers.

I have basicly the same engine that you have I went with the Comp Cam extreme engery 268 & love it. My engine make good power from idle thru about 5800 rpm's & has a real nice lumpy idle, My brother has the Comp Cam 280 magumn in his 468 & mine sounds rougher at I dle than his does.

I think I like the 268H Xtreme Energy Cam. Seems it takes the best HP/Torque reading from both the 270H and 280H magnum cams. Are dual duration cams better than single duration cams?

I'm leaning toward 268H now :) thanks for the input...any others?

I'm running a set of 3:42 gears & a Eaton Posi unit in a 12 bolt rear end with a M-20 trans that has been up graded to a Auto gear case, iron midplate & all wear pieces were replaced, all we used from the old muncie was the gear set. I love my Cam it sounds like a Muscle car & runs great, I'm using a 750 Holley Double Pumper with the 4 cornor idle system, a C-396 Eldebrock dual plane intake, A complete Accel ingition system with the 71000E billit Dist, Accel coil & wires. To me the Extreme Engery series Cam is the best of both world's

What 286H cam are you running?

I read in Jegs book that 280H can cause problems with vacuum accessories.

I put the Xtreme Energy 268H, the Magnum 270H, and the Magnum 280H cams in my desktop dyno program and did comparisons. The HP number might be a little high, but it does show a good comparison between cams.

Looks like the 268H Xtreme Energy is a good one. Any other ideas? Or does it sound like im set?
