I have Hedman 1 3/4” headers with Magnaflow exhaust. Headers have no fitment issues and tuck close to bottom of floors. Magnaflow exhaust tailpipes exit nicely with O.E. Style Chrome tips that are level. Others may have their opinion, but I like my setup.

Summit house brand 1 3/4” fit my 68 perfect but I’d Highly rec’d coated headers, I have Patriot 1 7/8” coated on the car now and fit fine except I had to Ding where I put motor mount stand bolts UP from underneath and even after cutting the bolt threads short it still needed a good “Dimple” there

Yup ceramic coated headers are way better and the better ones are coated inside and out.

Headman seem to fit A bodies well. Keeping the tube diameter to 1 7/8 - 1 3/4 will give you good clearance on the steering shaft. They also tuck up under the floor nice. Keeping the collector length shorter will mean not having to buy a different trans cross member. Ceramic coating looks good, reduces under hood heat substantially and last for years unless you over heat the exhaust by bad tuning. As for pipes 2 1/2" will keep the noise down. 3" will double the noise and can attract unwanted visitors.
