I have a 1970 Malibu that used to be a 350/350 car with factory A/C, PB, and PS. I now have a 402BB with an M20. The block is actually a '67 L35 396 that I bored +.030". The heads are the original matching L35s as well. Here is the problem. I was considering reinstalling my factory A/C, but the bracket setup for a '70 shows there being 2 bosses on the side of the head for the side support bracket. Also, with power steering, it looks as if there will not be adequate clearance for the bolts on the front support brackets. Does anyone have a '70 with factory A/C, and PS, with the alt. obviously on the passenger side, that can shed some light on how the configuration should work. Pics would also be helpful. My assembly manual shows the compressor mounting, but the illustration does not show power steering. I would imagine that when GM swapped sides with accessories, the heads may have physically changed a little as far as the second boss on the side.

If I not able to use my factory A/C, does anyone know of a company that produces a complete setup for a '70 big block with long water pump, factory A/C, and alternator on pax side? Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I failed to mention, I have everything I need from the factory A/C as it was working when I pulled my 350. All I think I need is new brackets for compressor, idle compensator solenoid, (I have a big cam), and a muffler hose because mine was damaged. Oh yeah, one more question, if this all works out eventually, can I use 134A with the expansion valve, and does the POA valve need to be changed? Thanks again.
