This looks like a nice piece, but it's tough to see in the pics if the chrome bead on the top unit has any pitting.

I have a console in very similar shape that I bought in '95 for $50. I gave the picture window boot away to Mike Crown about 20 years ago when I thought I was going to use the second design boot in my first '67. I wound up keeping the bench seat, so the console sat unused. Probably should've kept that boot...oh well.

I've restored mine a bit, I actually had the rear trim rechromed, plus I resprayed the top in the correct semi-black. I have an NOS 2nd deisgn boot, but my clock needs to be repaired. I could probably use a new rear lens, but I haven't looked at it in awhile to see if I can polish it out.

I'm planning on one day finding a '66 to use this in, but if I were to sell it I wouldn't let it go for less than a thousand bucks. The repops are a joke, & most of the originals for sale are pretty beat up.

I bought an original, in excellent condition, minus a few things. It was missing the original clock, the wiring underneath, and the back lens. The boot had a small tear. I say it was in excellent condition because of the original paint and the overall quality of the piece. While I’m keeping an oem look for my interior, my car is not a show Nor will it enter any contests. I found it on eBay (lucked out on its purchase) for $377 with shipping included. I’ve looked for an original for several years and most ones I found on Craigslist in my area (California) were in the $500-$600 range. So from what I’ve seen in my own search, $500 is not too much to ask. Lastly, I’ve found that originals don’t show up for sale often, in California.
500 would be a rock bottom ask.. If one needed cash right away, IMO, $500 would ensure an instant sale with one in the condition as nice as the OPs.

After reading this thread, I went on Ebay & looked at others for sale. Ones in similar condition were asking between $785 & $950.

Here's one that sold in June for $800. Similar condition, just fresher paint.

I know there is a guy in MN that has a couple fully restored and nice. He is strictly on Facebook now. Not sure if they have an original working clock. Most likely converted to electronic.I know I paid about $200-300 to have my clock fixed about 10ys ago. I know I put a 2amp fuse in there to protect it. I think 66partsforyou is his name, he is on allchevyswapmeet
For $300 my clock can stay frozen...it'll be right 2x a day.
