1 5/8" vs 1 3/4" headers

Got a basically stock SBC stoked to 383. I want to put on headers. I can get Hooker 1 5/8" for less than $200 and 1 3/4" for just over $400. Would the 1 3/4 be too large? I've got an RV cam, whatever that means, and an edelbrock manifold and new 600 cfm carb.

1-5/8" headers will work just fine. I would also downsize the collector to 2-1/2" to keep the scavenging efficient, if it isn't 2-1/2" already.
