Having never owned a Mopar, would like some comments as to the value of a 73 Challenge a neighbor wishes to trade with me for my Vette. The 73 body is pretty straight with no noticable dents. Little rust around the back glass. Trunk and floor pans appeart to be rust free. Currantly has a running 360 motor that appears to be in fair condition. Said he has the origanal 340 short block, torn down. Automatic 3 speed, I am assuming it is a 727. Interior is all there , but worn , did not see the mileage. Glass is good. He seems to think the car is worth six grand. Would this seem to be high, low or in the ballpark. Thanks to those who take the time to respond..........John

the standard questions apply.... is it a rally car ? slap stick floor shifter? factory tack & guages? rally rims? 8 3/4 rear? Mopars are easy to ID these's a tag on the drivers fender that tells you EVERYTHING..... & the mopars guys are great at helping 73 was the Last of the 340's & it was a smog dog ,, but hey wasn't everyones in 73 ??

What kind of vette do you want to trade for a challenger??

If it was a cheVETTE, than maybe I would understand.

Unless you are talking about a really undesirable year corvette.

Just curious.

It was a 90 model ,six speed, great car , but we did not trade. He just bought it outright. I believe there were actually nine 1983 vettes made, and all but one was destroyed by the factory. The last one was or still is , in the Vette museum, I think. Thanks again for the info............john
